IMO Daeran is fantasic 'cos being a spontaneous caster he can always deal out multiple casts of what you need right now - Death Wards for instance. But therein lies the rub - so long as he knows the spell in question. Also, Daeran's dialogue is awesome. Sosiel buffed with Cleric spells is not mediocre melee-wise. Not by a long shot. And a lot of people are talking about late game, but when a new spell level first opens to Daeran, he gets very few spells immediately. Daeran is a great healer after getting mythic boundless healing. There's also a headgear item that boosts positive and negative channeling and is really good for him. He's pretty much buff-only in the party; bless, prayer, protection from alignment, shield of faith etc.
